

Mark Sholl has been the director of orchestras at Hilliard Davidson High School and Music Coordinator for the Hilliard City Schools for the past sixteen years. His responsibilities include conducting three orchestras at Davidson High School and overseeing the music budget and staffing for 13 elementary schools, two 6th grade schools, three middle schools and three high schools. Mr. Sholl is also the past President of the Ohio Orchestra and String Teachers Association. He currently serves on the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra Board and is their Education Committee Chair. Mr. Sholl is the music director of the Columbus Symphony Cadet Orchestra, one of four levels of youth orchestras associated with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his tenure with the Hilliard Schools, Mr. Sholl was the Orchestra and Assistant Band Director at Grove City High School for six years, where he won the National Sallie Mae Teaching Award. Mr. Sholl has also conducted numerous ensembles at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan. He has studied at The Peabody Conservatory, The University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Music, and The Ohio State University from which he received his Master of Arts. Mark was the winner of the Ohio Music Education Association Outstanding Music Educator Award for 2011. He is currently a doctoral student in The Ohio State University School of Education Policy and Leadership. His focus of study is on studying the effectiveness of arts evaluation in the Common Core State Standards.

Ginny Faulkner

As Orchestra Director at Weaver Middle School and Assistant Director at Davidson High School, Ginny Faulkner is currently in her ninth year of teaching strings at the Hilliard City Schools. She teaches grades five through twelve in five different schools in the district. Previously she taught for three years in the Delaware City Schools. She has served as the manager for the Columbus Symphony Cadet Orchestra and assistant for the Columbus Children's Community Orchestra. In addition she has taught for the Worthington Chamber Music Connection and for the Suzuki Music center of Central Ohio. She had been a director and counselor for the OOSTA Middle school Orchestra Camp. In addition, she is past Secretary of OOSTA. A violinist and pianist, Mrs. Faulkner has performed with the central Ohio Symphony Orchestra and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and maintains a private studio. She has both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from The Ohio State University.

Caitlin Bartholic


Caitlin Bartholic is a 2003 graduate of Davidson High School and an 2007 Graduate of Bowling Green State University. While at Bowling Green, Miss Bartholic was a music education major with a specialty in strings. She was a regular studio piano accompanist for several of the performance studios at BGSU. Her major instrument is the violin. She has studied violin with Dr. Robert Gillespie, and Dr. Penny Kruse. Miss Bartholic's duties in the Hilliard City Schools includes directing the orchestra programs at Tharp Sixth Grade School and assisting at Weaver Middle School and Davidson High School with their orchestras.
